Labour Court says contract cleaners at Irish Press and Guinness sites covered by Dublin orders

In 1992, the Labour Court decided that the Contract Cleaning Joint Labour Committee and Dublin Employment Regulation Orders covered Professional Contract Cleaners’ employees working at the Irish Press and Guinness sites. The decision was dated 16 November 1992. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that the workers’ duties warranted higher rates than those in the Order; Professional Contract Cleaners said the work was standard contract cleaning. The Court said grading and premium payment questions should be raised with the Joint Labour Committee.
