In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that a worker at Shamrock Apparel Limited use the agreed grievance procedures to pursue a dispute about his lay-off, employment status, holiday pay and lost earnings. The recommendation was dated 13 November 1991. The company said the worker had not followed the procedure in its agreement with the union and was willing to discuss the issues in formal meetings. The worker said he had followed the process, worked regular weekend shifts and cover, and disputed being classed as part-time. The Court found the procedures had not been used and recommended that he follow them if he still wished to pursue the issues.
