In 1991, the Labour Court upheld a worker’s unfair-dismissal appeal against Premier Bar, finding he had been dismissed unfairly. The decision was dated 13 November 1991. The barman said he had received no warning during his nine months with the bar. Premier Bar said his work was poor and his customer relations unsatisfactory. The Court found he had not been warned that his work fell below the expected standard. It did not consider further compensation warranted in light of the terms under which he had been paid off, including £400 described as two weeks’ wages.
