The Labour Court recommended an appeal for two Gilbeys Of Ireland Limited employees who were not promoted out of grade F in a job-evaluation exercise. The recommendation was dated 27 August 1991. The Court recommended that an Irish Productivity Centre job-evaluation expert join the appeals team. If the appeals failed, it recommended that the employees’ jobs be evaluated alongside grades A to E. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought to include grade F in the evaluation scheme.
