The Labour Court recommended that Blanchvac Limited recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for negotiations on behalf of its members. The recommendation was dated 25 July 1991. The union said 20 of the company's 27 general workers were members and that Blanchvac had not met with it. The company said most workers did not want union membership and that it discussed grievances directly with staff. Blanchvac did not attend the Court investigation but sent written submissions.
