Labour Court does not recommend higher pay or superannuation for switchboard operators

The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union’s claim for a higher pay rate and employment status for three switchboard operators at St Otteran’s Hospital. The recommendation was dated 20 June 1991. The Court said the South Eastern Health Board had applied the 1980 Rationalisation Agreement fairly and in line with general practice. It also did not consider it appropriate to issue a recommendation on the operators’ superannuation claim on that occasion.
