The Labour Court recommended that Penneys Limited strictly follow the registered agreement governing full-time and part-time staffing at its Artane branch. It did not recommend the six additional full-time posts sought by the Irish Distributive And Administration Trade Union. The recommendation was dated 20 June 1991. The Court said adherence to the agreement would determine the number of permanent full-time staff and recommended that the company give sympathetic consideration to Ms Jewell and Ms McNeill’s positions.
