The Labour Court recommended that Milford House continue its practice of paying nurses at parity with public sector nurses, subject to later review if legislation changed. The Irish Nurses Organisation sought public service special awards for nurses at Milford Centre from the dates those awards took effect. Management said the awards did not automatically apply to private sector employees and cited the centre’s financial position. The recommendation was dated 7 June 1991.
