The Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim to upgrade six berthing masters at Cork Harbour Commissioners from category 2 to category 3. The recommendation was dated 28 March 1991. The union argued their responsibilities warranted the higher grade. The Court said it found no grounds to concede the claim, taking account of the 1987 rationalisation and previous changes in grade relationships.
