The Labour Court did not recommend a reduction in working hours for workers at Corcanree under the Framework Agreement on Hours of Work, in a dispute between James McMahon Limited and the Marine Port And General Workers' Union. The recommendation was signed on 5 December 1990. The union said the workers' longer lunch break was compensation for moving to Corcanree; the company said their 38.75-hour week fell below the agreement's 40-hour threshold. The Court said the workers did not qualify for a further reduction under the agreement but recommended the parties find a solution to address what it considered an inequity in the existing arrangement.
