The Labour Court recommended that a worker at Belmont Park Hospital be paid at the maximum of the Charge Nurse/Ward Sisters scale, £15,173 a year, and receive an ex gratia payment of £1,200. The recommendation was signed on 1 June 1990.
The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought a higher scale and retrospection for the Assistant Director of Residential Care post. Management argued that the existing pay was appropriate given the hospital’s declining residential numbers and changing care arrangements.
