In 1989, the Labour Court recommended negotiations on cost reductions at B.P. Ireland Limited's Dublin Airport terminal to help resolve Irish Transport And General Workers' Union's claim for a once-off key-holding payment for seven workers. The Court found the claim as presented would breach the Programme for National Recovery and noted the company disputed the union's view that airport and Dublin depot workers were treated differently. The company said the rationalisation plan and related payment applied at the Dublin depot, not the airport terminal. The recommendation was signed on 12 September 1989.
