The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that Dublin County Council advertise a water inspector vacancy at its Deansrath depot. The recommendation was signed on 11 September 1989. The Council said it had committed to redeploying a former pipe inspector who had moved to depot assistant after work declined. Dublin County Council Group Of Unions said an agreement allowed two redeployments, after which vacancies should be advertised. The Rights Commissioner had recommended advertising the position through the normal process.
