In 1989, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Ictu Shopworkers Trade Union Group’s claim for transfer payments for about 20 building-trade workers at Irish Rail. Irish Rail proposed moving their base from Broadstone and Heuston Station to Connolly Station. The union relied on an agreement providing disturbance payments and said the cost would be about £2,000. The Court found no special circumstances meriting compensation. The recommendation was signed on 23 June 1989.
