The Labour Court recommended that Mercy Hospital Cork/North Infirmary/Department Of Health pay £2,500 to a radiographer in full and final settlement of her claim for earnings lost after redeployment from North Infirmary to Mercy Hospital Cork. The recommendation was signed on 2 March 1989. The Federated Workers Union Of Ireland had sought £12,000, citing an annual loss of about £6,000 in premium earnings. The Court considered the reduction largely inevitable, but said there was some evidence that an indication of a review of her earnings had influenced her decision to redeploy.
