The Labour Court recommended that Irish Glass PLC provide a temporary replacement for general cleaners when an absence lasts five weeks or more. It did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union’s claim for a replacement when a process feederman deputises for the foreman. The union sought higher staffing in both areas. The recommendation was signed on 28 November 1988.
