The Labour Court did not recommend concession airline travel for about 460 workers at Airmotive Ireland Limited. The Amalgamated Engineering Union, Federated Workers’ Union of Ireland, Electrical Trades Union and National Electrical and Engineering Trades Union had brought the claim. The Court considered the position in other Aer Lingus subsidiaries and conditions among firms competing directly with Airmotive. The recommendation was signed on 25 October 1988.
