Labour Court recommends £100 each for 16 Dublin Port staff after relocation

The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Port And Docks Board pay £100 each to 16 clerical and administrative staff in final settlement of their relocation claim. The recommendation was signed on 16 August 1988. The Irish Transport And General Workers Union had sought a share of a payment previously recommended for manual staff. The Board argued that a 1981 agreement had already compensated the clerical staff for the move from Custom House Docks to Port Centre. The Court did not find the workers entitled to disturbance compensation, but cited the extra effort required and the demanding timetable and standards in recommending the £100 payment.
