In 1988, the Labour Court recommended that Limerick Corporation and the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union have two workers transferred back to the bridge immediately and paid £150 each in full and final settlement of their loss-of-earnings claims. The Court said they should have been restored after an inquiry cleared them of involvement in the incident. The recommendation was signed on 31 March 1988.
