The Labour Court recommended that Shamrock Foods Limited pay a worker £200 to settle his unfair dismissal claim. The recommendation was signed on 16 December 1987. The Court found that the worker had not been unfairly dismissed in January 1981, but was not satisfied that he had received the £110 severance payment offered by the company. He said he had been promised further work after recovering his driving licence; Shamrock Foods said his temporary employment ended as business slowed and no further work was available.
