The Labour Court recommended that Power Supermarkets Ltd (Quinnsworth) pay a net lump sum of £200 to 14 stock audit staff after the introduction of new data terminals. The recommendation was signed on 18 May 1987. The Irish National Union of Vintners, Grocers and Allied Trades Assistants argued the terminals increased productivity and reduced processing costs. Power Supermarkets said the equipment was straightforward to use, training would be provided and jobs would not be lost; it had offered £80.
