The Labour Court recommended redundancy payments of £350 per year of service, plus statutory entitlement, for about 32 Armitage Shanks Ireland Limited workers. Its recommendation was signed on 7 May 1987. For two clerical staff offered alternative jobs in Tallaght, the Court recommended an additional £25 each per week for 12 months to cover travel costs. It said it had considered the parties’ submissions and the company’s circumstances. The unions were the Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union, the Amalgamated Engineering Union and Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Staff.
