Labour Court recommends Quinnsworth-style grades for Power Import staff

In 1987, the Labour Court recommended that Power Import & Wholesale Limited introduce a grade structure similar to Quinnsworth's and apply the appropriate grade to its clerical workers. The recommendation was signed on 23 April 1987. The Federated Workers Union of Ireland sought Quinnsworth head office scales and a 26th-round wage increase for 15 workers. Power Import & Wholesale Limited, represented by the Federated Union of Employers, argued that comparisons should be made with import and wholesale businesses and said its pay and conditions compared favourably with competitors.
