Labour Court rejects Tssa claim for disturbance payments at Cie

In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association's claim for disturbance payments for about 50 administrative staff at Coras Iompair Eireann (Cie). The recommendation was signed on 12 February 1987. The staff were due to move from Pearse Station to North Wall during Cie's restructuring. The union said existing agreements provided payments for urban transfers and argued the move would inconvenience staff. Cie said the relocation was necessary, the new premises offered equivalent or better facilities, and government policy prevented it from paying an allowance. The Court considered payment unjustified and did not recommend the union's claim be conceded.
