In a recommendation signed on 5 February 1987, the Labour Court proposed a £5 weekly increase for 12 months from 1 September 1986 for about 200 guards, patrol drivers and controllers at Group 4 Securitas Ireland Limited. It also recommended discussions on Dublin travel allowances and including regular rostered overtime in holiday pay from the start of the 27th Round. The Irish Transport and General Workers' Union had sought five changes, including higher basic pay, clothing allowances and parity in guaranteed hours between Dublin and Cork. The Court did not recommend the other claims.
