Labour Court recommends reinstating Bord Na Mona worker

In 1986, the Labour Court recommended reinstating a worker dismissed by Bord Na Mona, with a standard probationary period from 1 November. The recommendation was signed on 10 October 1986. Bord Na Mona said it dismissed the worker over apparent irregularities in a sick pay claim, including an altered medical certificate. The worker denied altering it, and the Federated Workers Union of Ireland said he had not seen the certificate and described the matter as a misunderstanding. The Labour Court recommended that the period since dismissal be treated as suspension without pay.
