WRC recommends written reasons for refusal of pandemic payment appeal

The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that an employee receive written reasons for the rejection of her appeal against the refusal of a pandemic recognition payment. The recommendation was dated 9 April 2024. The employee said she worked face to face with the public during the pandemic. The employer said Civil Registration did not meet the payment criteria. The adjudication officer found no evidence that the appeal had been improperly conducted, but said the appeal body should explain which criteria the employee failed to meet within 30 days.
