The WRC did not uphold a bank worker’s complaint about being returned to her substantive grade after two temporary higher-grade assignments. The recommendation was dated 9 April 2024. Represented by Unite the Union, she said she continued doing higher-level work after her grade and salary fell, causing an annual loss of €11,454. The bank said the temporary contract ended under its agreement with Unite and that the worker later failed to secure a permanent higher-level role. The officer found she had not established a right to retain the temporary grade or salary, and saw no reason to question the grievance reviewer’s objectivity.
