The WRC recommended that a worker engage with the employer’s Dignity at Work procedures over her bullying and harassment grievance, and take up an offered meeting to discuss alternatives when resigning. Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes dated the recommendation on 26 April 2024. The worker said she raised three bullying concerns about her line manager and felt she had no option but to resign after the employer’s response. The employer said the manager denied the incidents, there were no witnesses, and the worker declined invitations to meet or consider other options. The officer said the employer looked into the complaints but could not decide whether the incidents occurred without witnesses. He noted that the worker repeatedly declined attempts to resolve the dispute. The recommendation did not decide whether bullying occurred or whether the resignation amounted to constructive dismissal.
