Linda O’Regan’s Labour Court appeal fails

The Labour Court dismissed Ms Linda O’Regan’s appeal under the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act 2003, affirming the Adjudication Officer’s decision. The Court’s decision was dated 12 December 2023. O’Regan and the Health Service Executive (HSE South) both accepted that she had been employed on a contract of indefinite duration, rather than as a fixed-term worker covered by the Act. The appeal failed on that basis; the merits were not decided.
