The Labour Court found a worker’s complaint against Grosvenor Service Station not well founded. The decision was signed on 16 January 1991. The worker, represented by the Employment Equality Agency, alleged she was expected to wear a skirt while male operators wore jeans and was dismissed after challenging the requirement. The station said it dismissed her because of problems with shift sheets, cash balances and customer relations. The Court found no mandatory skirt requirement in Esso policy and did not accept that she was dismissed for refusing to wear one.
