WRC lacked jurisdiction over Healy’s employment equality complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission lacked jurisdiction to hear Lorna Healy’s Employment Equality Act complaint because it was brought against the wrong legal entity. The decision, dated 29 May 2026, says the complaint named Berkshire Hathaway European Insurance, while Healy’s contract and payslips identified Resolute Management Limited as her employer. Healy said she believed Berkshire Hathaway European Insurance Limited employed her and was connected to Resolute Management Limited. The WRC found that neither the employer identified on her documents nor the entity she said she believed employed her was named on the complaint form. It found it had no jurisdiction to substitute a different legal entity. The merits of the complaint were not decided.
