The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ordered Prism Properties Ltd Mkn Properties Group - Mkn Lettings to pay Greg Rogers €7,500 after finding discrimination on the housing assistance ground. The decision, dated 16 July 2026, also directed the landlord to stop requiring Rent Supplement applicants to disclose personal or financial information it did not need to verify as landlord.

Rogers had asked the landlord to complete Part 9 of his Rent Supplement form. The landlord required him to provide Parts 1–8 first, which contained personal and financial information. It said its policy was to sign only completed forms and denied treating him differently because he sought assistance.

The adjudication officer found that the requirement arose because Rogers was seeking Rent Supplement and was not imposed on tenants who did not seek it. The landlord did not show that seeing the applicant’s information was necessary to verify its own declaration. The officer found the condition unnecessary and disproportionate, and said the conduct delayed access to the supplement and contributed to financial hardship, stress and uncertainty.
