The Workplace Relations Commission found that Soya Binoy’s race discrimination complaint against Children’s Health Ireland was out of time. In a decision dated 30 July 2026, adjudication officer Pat Brady ruled that Binoy had not shown reasonable cause to extend the statutory time limit. The WRC did not decide whether discrimination occurred. Binoy alleged that she faced discrimination, harassment and systemic racism during a probation process, including being told on 31 January 2025 that she had failed probation. CHI denied discrimination and argued that the complaint was late. The adjudicator found no reason why Binoy could not have referred her complaint earlier within the relevant period. He also found that no further alleged breaches had occurred within that period.
