The Workplace Relations Commission found Nitish Kurup’s civil-status discrimination complaint against Fg Frasers Group Holdings (Global) Ltd was not well founded, ruling it misconceived. The WRC decision was dated 19 June 2026 and made no monetary award. Kurup worked as a security guard supplied by Pristine Security Services to the respondent’s Sports Direct store on Talbot Street. He said managers criticised how he and a colleague handled a man suspected of shoplifting and that he was moved to another location later that day. He also said the incident harmed his public image and his prospect of promotion. The adjudicator accepted that Kurup worked for the respondent for the purposes of the Employment Equality Act, although Pristine Security employed him. But Kurup did not pursue a claim that he had been treated less favourably because of a protected ground. The adjudicator found he had not established basic facts suggesting discrimination.
