The Workplace Relations Commission awarded James Murphy €3,000 after finding his employment at Boyles Butchers ended because of a workplace conversation linked to his disability. Adjudication Officer Pat Brady’s decision was dated 22 July 2026.
Murphy said his employment ended after he experienced a seizure at work and told the employer he needed to go home. Boyles Butchers disputed his account of the conversation and said it had accommodated him. The officer upheld the disability discrimination complaint but found no prima facie case for failure to provide reasonable accommodation or harassment.
