The Workplace Relations Commission has rejected Qhawe Magongo’s complaint that his former employer, Travglen ltd., discriminated against him on grounds of race in its treatment of him and his dismissal during probation. Adjudication Officer Patsy Doyle’s decision was dated 22 July 2026.

Magongo alleged that his probation and dismissal were discriminatory, citing a workplace disagreement and an unsatisfactory probation review. Travglen ltd. denied discrimination and said it ended his probation over concerns about his work behaviour, attitude and performance.

Doyle found that Magongo had not identified a comparator or established facts from which race discrimination could be inferred. The complaint was found not well founded, and no compensation was awarded.
