The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Ces Controlled Services Ltd to pay Daniel Cummins-Lake €750 after upholding his complaint about public holiday pay. The decision was dated 20 January 2026. Cummins-Lake said the company paid him for eight hours when a Monday bank holiday fell during his regular 12-hour shift; the company denied breaching the law. The adjudication officer found the eight-hour payment left Cummins-Lake €146 short in weeks with a Monday bank holiday and that the statutory entitlement overrode the contract term. The WRC considered the six-month period from 5 January to 4 July 2025.
