The WRC rejected Yasemin Varol’s complaint that The Merrion Hotel scheduled her for shifts with fewer than 11 consecutive hours of daily rest. Adjudication Officer Penelope McGrath, in a decision dated 20 January 2026, found no breach in the six months before Varol filed her complaint. Varol said the alleged short-rest shifts occurred nine times between March and October 2024 and that she raised the issue with the hotel. The hotel argued the complaint was outside the time limit. The officer found Varol identified no breach from 26 December 2024 to filing and no evidence justified extending the time limit for earlier alleged breaches.
