The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has awarded Darragh Travers €8,000 after finding that Exwell Medical Limited unfairly dismissed him. The decision was dated 9 June 2026. Travers complained that he was dismissed without a disciplinary process, representation at investigation meetings or an opportunity to appeal. The company said his 12-month fixed-term contract expired and also cited performance, operational and cash-handling concerns. The WRC found the contract was unsigned by Travers and that the dismissal was not based only on its expiry. It upheld his complaint under the Unfair Dismissals Act 1977, finding the dismissal unfair in procedure and substance.
