WRC finds unfair dismissal complaint was filed before dismissal

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Mohamed Abdullahi Hussein submitted his unfair dismissal complaint against Manguard Plus Limited before the dismissal took effect. In a decision dated 23 October 2025, it treated the complaint as statute barred; the merits were not decided. Hussein said he was dismissed on 15 January 2025. The company said his termination took effect on 14 May 2025, and he accepted that date. His complaint had been submitted on 19 April, before that dismissal date. The adjudicator said he could submit a fresh complaint within the statutory time frame, normally by 13 November 2025.
