The Workplace Relations Commission found Kieran Curley was unfairly dismissed by Carrigeen Travel Ltd T/A Daly Travel and ordered the company to pay him €18,000 net compensation. Adjudication Officer Patsy Doyle dated the decision 28 July 2026.
Curley’s dismissal followed a third-party complaint about an interaction on his bus and a school transport service ban. The company said it had no choice but to dismiss him after he declined a proposed meeting and alternative work. The officer found the company did not establish grounds for dismissal and failed to provide an investigation, clear reasons or an appeal opportunity. She also found Curley contributed to his dismissal by refusing alternative work.
