The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Brendan Coone’s two age discrimination complaints against Gerard Healy and made no award. The decision is dated 30 January 2026. Coone alleged age discrimination over the anticipated end of his school bus driving after age 70 and challenged alleged discriminatory provisions in an employment agreement. Healy said a Bus Éireann commercial agreement barred school bus driving after age 70. The WRC found no prima facie case of age discrimination and could not establish that a collective agreement existed.
