The Workplace Relations Commission found Patrick Healy was not unfairly dismissed by Greyhound Express Ltd, accepting that his job ended in a genuine redundancy. The decision was dated 13 April 2026. Healy challenged the dismissal, saying there was no meaningful consultation or consideration of other roles and that the decision was communicated abruptly. The adjudicator found there was no formal consultation and that the communication was unsatisfactory, but concluded there was no viable alternative role and consultation was unlikely to have changed the outcome. The employer said the role became financially unsustainable after losing a key client and amid ongoing operating losses.
