WRC dismisses Teresa Ann Lennon’s complaints as out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission ruled that Teresa Ann Lennon’s complaints against Kane Barry Costcutters were outside the applicable time limit and could not be entertained. Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes’ decision was dated 19 September 2025. The complaints concerned redundancy payments, minimum notice and alleged rights under transfer of undertakings regulations after the retail outlet closed and Lennon’s employment ended on 23 October 2022. They were submitted on 1 November 2023, more than 12 months after the relevant contraventions, the WRC found. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The WRC made no substantive findings on the complaints and recorded no award.
