WRC dismisses Ignatius Corr’s disability discrimination complaint against Vertiv Ireland, E&I Engineering

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Ignatius Corr’s disability discrimination complaint against Vertiv Ireland, E&I Engineering. Corr alleged the company failed to act on an occupational health recommendation for a phased return to work and counselling, and discriminated against him by refusing a redundancy package. The adjudicator found the accommodation complaint was outside the statutory time limit and WRC jurisdiction. Corr did not establish facts supporting an inference of discrimination over the redundancy package, so that complaint was rejected too. No award was made.
