The Workplace Relations Commission awarded David Henderson €26,000 after finding that The Bohemian Football Club Company Limited by Guarantee unfairly dismissed him through a sham redundancy. Adjudication Officer Christina Ryan issued the decision on 2 July 2025.
Henderson said he was dismissed in a sham redundancy without fair procedures. The club maintained that his role was genuinely redundant, citing financial losses and budget cuts, but the officer found the club had not substantiated its financial position or shown that the redundancy was genuine. She also found that allegations used to justify his dismissal were fabricated and that there had been no consultation or fair process. A duplicate complaint was withdrawn; the separate unfair dismissal complaint succeeded.
