The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Alex Collins €10,000 gross after finding he was unfairly dismissed by Kevin O Leary Group Kevin O Leary Silversprings Ltd. The decision was dated 5 February 2026.
Collins was dismissed for alleged gross misconduct over a vehicle transaction. The employer said records and the transaction raised concerns about irregularities and a breakdown of trust. The adjudicator said the employer may have had reasonable grounds to suspect misconduct, but found it failed to follow its procedures or provide fair procedures: Collins received no evidence in advance, no investigation report or meeting minutes were produced, and the same director investigated and decided the case. The award took account of Collins’s inadequate efforts to mitigate his losses until June 2025 and his contribution to the dismissal.
