The Workplace Relations Commission found that Terra Water Systems Ltd t/a Terra Nutritech unfairly dismissed Sean Corrigan and ordered it to pay him €11,520 compensation. The decision was dated 24 September 2025.
Corrigan was dismissed for gross misconduct after failing for several months to complete delivery dockets. The company said the missing records threatened traceability, licensing and its business; the WRC accepted that the failures had financial and reputational effects.
The WRC found the company had not adequately explained the importance of the dockets or checked whether they were completed. It also found the disciplinary process did not meaningfully consider Corrigan’s mitigation or alternatives to dismissal, and that his job was advertised during the appeal period. The WRC concluded his conduct contributed to the dismissal but that the dismissal was unfair.
