The Workplace Relations Commission found the dismissal of bus driver Pawel Walewacz by Citi Bus Limited Dublin Coach unfair and awarded him €2,000 gross. It rejected his separate complaint that he was owed wages for traffic delays. The decision was dated 9 April 2026.
Dublin Coach said Walewacz failed to report a vehicle incident and denied it despite evidence, amounting to gross misconduct and a loss of trust. The adjudication officer cited delays in investigating and uncertainty over whether the relevant reporting rule appeared in the handbook he received. Walewacz disputed the employer’s account of the incident.
